Mas de la Pansa: Old Vines and Patient Soul

Lengthy Aging for Wines Made Without Haste

Imma Soler dignifies the craft of the native viticulturist

Since 2016, Imma Soler has been crafting single-varietal wines from Trepat, Parellada, and Macabeu. Practicing organic farming on centenarian plots across Alt Camp and Conca de Barberà, she allows every bottle to rest for up to four years before it ever reaches the market.

From Selling Grapes to Bottling a Legacy

Barcelona/Newsroom, January 15, 2026

In 2016, Imma Soler made a pivotal choice: she stopped selling her grapes to others and began crafting her own wine. Utilizing her family’s ancient Macabeu and Parellada vines in Alt Camp, and Trepat in Conca de Barberà, she named the project after a family estate. It is a tribute to generations of farmers, especially her grandfather Joan and her father Pere Joan.

Soler tends to small plots with low yields, prioritizing quality over volume. These long-cycle native varieties demand artisanal care; the harvest is done by hand in the early morning, followed by 24 hours of refrigeration to ensure a slow, controlled fermentation.

Micro-vinification with Minimal Intervention

Operating out of the Viver de Celleristes in Barberà de la Conca—a historic cooperative designed in 1894 by Cèsar Martinell—Soler produces her single-varietal wines with a philosophy of gentle guidance. She accompanies the grapes through the process without forcing them. Her micro-vinifications are refined in barrels and then aged in the bottle for two to four years.

This extended resting period allows the wines to mature, integrate, and gain complexity, softening acidity and astringency. The result is a collection of wines defined by their subtleness, freshness, and structural elegance.

Honest Terroir Without Disguise

Mas de la Pansa produces wines that reflect the terroir with total transparency. The old vines authentically express the character of the Alt Camp and Conca de Barberà landscapes. Through organic farming, Soler regenerates the soil and fosters biodiversity, maintaining a constant presence in the fields to ensure the grapes reach the cellar in peak condition.

Every bottle represents a series of conscious decisions, from the harvest to the final labeling. The illustrations on the labels tell the story of her deep family roots. Soler crafts the wines she loves to drink—austere, honest, and elegant—preserving the viticultural heritage of the Tarragona region. #Naturalwines
